Official Opening of Courts at Ithembelihle LSEN School

On 23 August 2025, Ithembelihle LSEN School proudly hosted the official opening of our brand-new courts. The event was marked by exciting matchups as six schools came together to participate in the Gauteng Wheelchair Basketball League.

The opening wasn’t just about the new facility—it was about building community, creating opportunities, and celebrating the incredible talent and determination of our athletes. The energy on the day was inspiring, with learners, coaches, and supporters all cheering on the teams in an atmosphere of unity and sportsmanship.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to announce that on 1 November 2025, Ithembelihle LSEN School will proudly host the league finals. It promises to be a day filled with thrilling basketball, teamwork, and the spirit of perseverance.

We look forward to welcoming all participating schools, families, and supporters for what will surely be an unforgettable finale!

Vuthlari Claude Mulungwa Heads to Thailand with South African Wheelchair Basketball Team as Head of Medical

In an inspiring development, Vuthlari Claude Mulungwa, one of our own, a dedicated and industrious Physiotherapist, has been selected to accompany the South African Wheelchair Basketball Team to Thailand as the Head of the Medical team. This is a momentous occasion for both Vuthlari, Ithembelihle Lsen School, and the South African sports community, and we couldn’t be prouder of his achievements.

Vuthlari has consistently demonstrated his commitment to the field of para sports physiotherapy. His expertise and dedication have not only earned him recognition but have also made him an integral part of the South African Wheelchair Basketball Team’s support staff. As the Head of Medical, Vuthlari’s role will be crucial in ensuring the health and well-being of the athletes while in Thailand.

As he embarks on this significant journey to Thailand we extend our best wishes to him. We believe that he will continue to raise the South African flag high, not only through his medical expertise but also through his unwavering support for our athletes.

We will be following the team’s progress closely and eagerly await their achievements in Thailand.
